Bands formed by past members after lead singer's death

New Order was formed by Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook and Stephen Morris, the surviving members of Joy Division in July 1980, two months after the suicide of the latter's frontman Ian Curtis with Gillian Gilbert joining them three months later. Foo Fighters was formed by Dave Grohl, the drummer of Nirvana in October 1994, six months after the suicide of the latter's frontman Kurt Cobain with the full band comprising of Grohl, Nate Mendel, William Goldsmith and Pat Smear performing their first concert four months later.

It's none other than Channel 4's Film4. The channel was launched in November 1998 as a pay-TV channel before becoming free-to-view in 2006. It's also the name of the channel's namesake production company which was founded in 1982 as Film on Four.

And the last hit by them was "We All Go Back to Where We Belong", which peaked at number 8 in Venezuela and number 25 in the US Adult Alternative Airplay chart in 2011.

It's true. Ringo Starr's biggest solo hit (excluding those in which he was part of a charity supergroup) was "Back Off Boogaloo", which peaked at number two in 1972. While Victoria Beckham's biggest solo hit was "Out of Your Mind" (as she was the featured artist since it was a collaboration with British garage duo True Steppers and former Another Level member Dane Bowers"), which peaked at number two in 2000 and the song that denied it at the top? "Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)" by Italian music producer Spiller and Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
