The only British film channel to be owned by the Big Five outside of Sky

It's none other than Channel 4's Film4. The channel was launched in November 1998 as a pay-TV channel before becoming free-to-view in 2006.
It's also the name of the channel's namesake production company which was founded in 1982 as Film on Four.
