The X Factor notable contestants

Season 1 (2004):
  • Steve Brookstein (born 10 November 1968 in London, England) is the first winner of The X Factor. He released two albums: Heart and Soul (2005, Sony BMG) & Chasing Butterflies (2006, Numunu). He was dropped from Sony BMG in Summer 2005. He founded a record label called Numunu. He is currently working with his wife, Eileen Hunter on her album and currently recording his third album which will be released during 2010.
  • G4 (formed early 2004 until late 2007) were the first runner-up of The X Factor. They released five albums: G4 (2005), G4 and Friends (2005), Live at The Royal Albert Hall (2005), Act Three (2006) and The Hits (2007). The Hits failed to chart because it was a fan-only release.
  • Tabby Callagham (born April 22, 1981 in Sligo, Ireland) is the first 3rd place of The X Factor. He started his career as a member of the Irish band, Petronella (formed 1998 until 2004). He released his debut album called Songs from the Gut (2009). He is currently finishing recording his second album Bread vs. Art, which will be released during 2010.
  • Rowetta Satchell (born 5 January 1966 in Manchester, England) is the first 4th place of The X Factor. She started her career in 1987. She released her debut album called Rowetta (2005). The album failed to chart which nearly led her to be dropped by Sony BMG.
  • Voices with Soul (formed early 2004) is the first 6th place of The X Factor. They released their debut album called Celebration (2008).
  • Verity Keays (born 1954 in Grimsby, England) is the first 8th place of The X Factor. She released her debut album Verity (2006).
Season 2 (2005):
  • Shayne Ward (born 16 October 1984 in Manchester, England) is the second winner of The X Factor. He released two albums: Shayne Ward (2006) and Breathless (2007). He is currently recording his third album which will be released during 2010.
  • Andy Abraham (born 17 July 1964 in North London, England) is the second runner-up of The X Factor. He released four albums: The Impossible Dream (Sony BMG, 2006), Soul Man (Sony BMG, 2006), Very Best Of (Sony BMG, 2008) and Even If (B Line, 2008). He left Sony BMG in early 2008. He sang the official song for the UK in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest called Even If. Sadly, he came 25th place in the contest. He founded a record label called B Line.
  • Journey Home (formed early 2005) is the second 3rd place of The X Factor. They released two albums: Journey South (2006) and Home (2007). They are currently recording their third album which will be released during 2010.
  • Brenda Edwards (born 1974, Luton, England) is the second 4th place of The X Factor. She hasn't released an album as of 2009. She is currently touring as Killer Queen in the musical We Will Rock You (named after the Queen hit).
  • Chico Slimani (born 2 April 1971 in Bridgend, South Wales) is the second 5th place of The X Factor. He is the first The X Factor contestant to sing an original song while performing as a contestant. He released his debut album called Lights, Camera, Action (2006).
  • The Conway Sisters (formed 2002 until August 2006) was the second 6th place of The X Factor. They were the first band from Ireland to be appearing as contestants in The X Factor. They released two albums: Waiting for You (2005), which was available on their website and The Conway Sisters (2006).
  • Maria Lawson (born 24 May 1976 in London, England) is the second 8th place of The X Factor. She released her debut album called Maria Lawson (2006). She is currently finishing recording her second album Emotional Rollercoaster, which will be released during early 2010.
  • Mollie King (born 4 June 1987 in Wandworth, Greater London, England) is a notable The X Factor contestant. She auditioned twice: as a solo artist (2005) and as a member from Fallen Angelz (2005 until 2007). She is now a member of The Saturdays (formed 2007), whose albums released are Chasing Lights (2008), iTunes Live: London Festival '09 (2009), Wordshaker (2009) and Headlines! (2010)
Season 3 (2006):
  • Leona Lewis (born 3 April 1985 in Islington, London, England) is the third winner of The X Factor and the first woman to do so. She released four albums: Twilight (2006), Spirit (2007), Best Kept Secret (2008) and Echo (2009). Twilight and Best Kept Secret failed to chart because they were demos.
  • Ray Quinn (born 25 August 1988 in Liverpool, Merseyside, England) is the third runner-up of The X Factor and youngest person to do so. He released his debut album called Ray Quinn (2007). He was dropped from the Sony BMG label in late 2007. He won the 2009 Dancing on Ice competition. He currently plays Danny in the musical Grease.
  • Ben Mills (born 1 March 1980 in Chatham, Kent, England) is the 2006 3rd place of The X Factor. He released his debut album called Picture of You (2007).
  • The MacDonald Brothers (formed 2006) are the third 4th place of The X Factor. They released four albums: The MacDonald Brothers (2007), The World Outside (2007), With Love (2008) and Young Celts (2008).
  • Eton Road (formed 2006 until 2008) were the third 5th place of The X Factor. They released their debut album called Eton Rd (2007).
  • Nikitta Angus (born 19 October 1988 in King's Lynn, England) is the third 7th place of The X Factor. She tried to audition for the first series in 2004 but she was involved in a car accident. She is currently recording her debut album which will be released during 2010.
  • Kerry McGregor (born 1973 or 1974 in West Lothian, Scotland) is the third 9th place of The X Factor. She is the first The X Factor contestant to have a condition called paraplegia and is confined to a wheelchair. She started her music career in 1997 as a contestant for A Song for Europe. She hasn't released an album as of 2009.
  • 4Tune (formed 2006) is the third 11th place of The X Factor. They supported Boys II Men in their UK tour. They are currently recording their debut album which will be released during 2010.
  • The Unconventionals (formed 2006) is the third 12th place of The X Factor. They released their debut album called Flower To The People (2009).
  • Avenue (formed 2006 until 2009) were the notable The X Factor contestants. They released their debut album called Avenue aka The Orange Album (2009).
  • The Dolly Rockers (formed 2006) is the notable The X Factor contestants. They are currently recording their debut album which will be released during 2010.
  • Shaun Rogerson (born 24 June 1989 in Abram, Wigan, England) is a notable The X Factor contestant. He released his debut album called Shaun (2007).
Season 4 (2007):
  • Leon Jackson (born 30 December 1988 in Whitburn, West Lothian, Scotland) is the fourth winner of The X Factor and youngest person to do so. He released his debut album called Right Now (2008). He was dropped from the Sony BMG label in early 2009. He is currently recording his second album which will be released during 2010.
  • Rhydian Roberts (born 14 February 1983 in Sennybridge, Powys, Wales) is the fourth runner-up of The X Factor. He released two albums: Rhydian (2008) and O Fortuna (2009).
  • Same Difference (formed 2007) is the fourth 3rd place of The X Factor. They released their debut album called Pop (2008). They are currently recording their second album which will be released during 2010.
  • Niki Evans (born 13 December 1972 in Tamworth, Staffordshire, England) is the 2007 4th place of The X Factor. She started her music career at the age of 12. She appeared on Star for A Night in 1999. She is currently recording her debut album will be released during 2010.
  • Hope (formed 2007) is the fourth 5th place of The X Factor. They are currently on hiatus until 2010 due to departures of Leah Lauder and Sisi Jghalef.
  • Beverly Trottman (born 22 August 1969 in Birmingham, England) is the fourth 6th place of The X Factor. She is currently recording her debut album which will be released during 2010.
  • Daniel DeBourg (born 13 April 1981 in Chelmsford, Essex, England) is the fourth 11th place of The X Factor. He released his debut album called Tell the World (2002). He is currently on hiatus until 2010.
  • Ryan Idzi (born 1985 in Caerphilly, Wales) is a notable The X Factor contestant. He is the first soldier to become The X Factor contestant. He is now a member of the trio The Soldiers, whom released their debut album Coming Home (2009).
Season 5 (2008):
  • Alexandra Burke (born 25 August 1988 in Islington, London, England) is the fifth winner of The X Factor. She appeared on Star for A Night in 2001. She made through in the second series in 2005, but failed to go to the live shows. She released her debut album called Overcome (2009).
  • JLS (formed 2007) is the fifth runner-up of The X Factor. They released their debut album called JLS (2009).
  • Eoghan Quigg (born 12 July 1992 in Dungiven, Northern Ireland) is the fifth 3rd place of The X Factor. He released his debut album called Eoghan Quigg (2009).
  • Diana Vickers (born 30 July 1991 in Lancashire, England) is the fifth 4th place of The X Factor. Her debut album, Songs from the Tainted Cherry Tree will be released on May 3, 2010 on RCA Records.
  • Ruth Lorenzo (born 10 November 1982 in Murcia, Spain) is 2008 5th place of The X Factor. She is currently recording her debut album which will be released during 2010.
  • Rachel Hylton (born 26 November 1981 in London, England) is the fifth 6th place of The X Factor. She is currently recording her debut album which will be released during 2010.
  • Daniel Evans (born 30 November 1969 in London, England) is the fifth 7th place of The X Factor. He released his debut album No Easy Way (2010) under BLW Records.
  • Laura White (born 31 August 1987 in Atherton, Manchester, England) is the fifth 8th place of The X Factor. She is currently recording her debut album called Laura White which will be released during 2010.
  • Austin Drage (born 29 June 1986 in Grays, Thurrock, England) is the fifth 9th place of The X Factor. He performed live with Laura White in Butlins in 2008. He is currently recording his debut album which will be released during 2010.
  • Scott Burton (born 14 December 1988 in Manchester, England) is the fifth 10th place of The X Factor. He is currently recording his debut album which will be released during 2010.
  • Bad Lashes (formed 2008) is the fifth 12th place of The X Factor. They are currently recording their debut album which will be released during 2010.
  • Emma Chawner (born 1980 or 1982 in London, England) is a notable The X Factor contestant. She failed to go to the Bootcamp three times from 2007 to 2009 because of her weight and her bad singing.
Season 6 (2009):
  • Joe McElderry (born 16 June 1991 in South Shields, Newcastle, Tyne and Wear, England) is the sixth winner of The X Factor. He auditioned for the fourth series in 2007, but failed to go to the bootcamp stages. He is currently recording his debut album which will be released during 2010. He came out as gay in July 2010 on his website.
  • Oliver "Olly" Murs (born 14 May 1984 in Witham, Essex, England) is the sixth runner-up of The X Factor. He appeared in the UK gameshow Deal or No Deal. He is currently recording his debut album which will be released during 2010.
  • Stacey Solomon (born 4 October 1989 in Dageham, London, England) is the sixth 3rd place of The X Factor.
  • Danyl Johnson (born 17 July 1981 in Arborfield, Reading, Berkshire, England) is the sixth 4th place of The X Factor. He was a member of two boybands: Upfrunt (formed 1999 until 2000) and StreetLevel (formed 2000 until 2006). He is now a member of the band Empty Spaces (formed 2006). He tried to audition for the third series in 2006, but failed to do it. He came out as bisexual before The X Factor. He released his debut album Enchanced (2009), which is available in his website.
  • Lloyd Daniels (born 14 December 1992 in Treharris, Cardiff, Wales) is the sixth 5th place of The X Factor.
  • John and Edward "Jedward" Grimes (born 16 October 1991 in Lucan, Dublin, Ireland, formed 2009) is the 2009 6th place of The X Factor. They are identical twins and they are mostly hated by people. They released their debut album Planet Jedward (2005)
  • Jamie "Afro" Archer (born 1975 in Putney, London, England) is the sixth 7th place of The X Factor. He is best known for his afro hairstyle.
  • Lucie Jones (born 20 March 1991 in Pentrych, Cardiff, Wales) is the sixth 8th place of The X Factor. She auditioned for the fourth series in 2007, but failed to go to the bootcamp stages.
  • Rachel Adedeji (born 22 August 1991 in Islington, London, England) is the sixth 9th place of The X Factor. She auditioned for the fifth series in 2008, but failed to go to judges' homes stages.
  • Miss Frank (formed 2009) is the sixth 10th place of The X Factor. They are actually made of three failed contestants.
  • Daniel Pearce (born 29 May 1978 in Ashford, Kent, England) is a notable The X Factor contestant. He was a contestant in Popstars: The Rivals and secured a place in a boyband which later became One True Voice (formed 2002 until 2003).
  • Stacey McClean (born 17 February 1989 in Bispham, Blackpool, England) is a notable The X Factor contestant. She used to be a member for the S Club spin-off S Club Juniors (later called S Club 8, formed 2001 until 2005).
  • Harmony Hood (formed 2009) is a notable The X Factor band. They are currently recording their debut album.
  • Miss Fitz (formed 2008) is a notable The X Factor band. They later went to another talent show Eurovision: Your Country Needs You in 2010 but failed to become the UK's entrant for Eurovision Song Contest 2010.
  • Jaz Ellington (born 1980's in England) is a notable The X Factor contestant.
