My rewrites of Marvel media continuities – 1-2

Marvel Cinematic Universe

Iron Man

  • Mostly the same though replacing Terrence Howard with Don Cheadle as Rhodes.

The Incredible Hulk

  • Mostly the same though replacing Edward Norton with Mark Ruffalo as Banner.

Iron Man 2

  • Justin Hammer is the main antagonist than being a secondary villain.
  • The young kid in an Iron Man mask isn't Peter Parker, but Harley Keener as I want my version of MCU Spider-Man to be more like himself and less like Iron Man Jr.

Thor

  • Donald Blake does appear and is played by Josh Hartnett, given that he's a separate character in the MCU than Thor's human alter ego in the comics.

Captain America: The First Avenger

  • There would be foreshadowings of the MCU X-Men and so on, so Logan (before he became Wolverine) would appear.
  • Red Skull is played by his current actor Ross Marquand than his original actor Hugo Weaving, due to the latter admitting that he wasn't comfortable with the make-up for the film when playing the character, hence his reason why he opted not to reprise his role in later films.

The Avengers

  • Not much except that the Chuitari would be led by Warbringer, who would serve as the main antagonist.

Iron Man 3

  • The Mandarin is based on his comic book counterpart, while Trevor Slattery and Aldrich Killian are part of his Ten Rings organisation.

Agents of SHIELD

  • Maria Hill is a series regular in this version. It's a pity that she never became a regular character aside from recurring in some episodes due to Cobie Smulders' commitments on How I Met Your Mother and now Stumptown.

Thor: The Dark World

  • Malekith would be a three-dimensional character.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

  • Nothing much to change on this.

Guardians of the Galaxy

  • Ronan the Accuser doesn't disintegrate but instead killed by Thanos after being defeated by the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Agent Carter

  • Colonel Phillips does recur in this version.

Daredevil

  • Not much, to be honest.

Avengers: Age of Ultron

  • That "prima nocta" joke is cut out for obvious reasons.
  • None of the "taking a level in jerkass" moments that were a major problem of the film happen in this version.

Ant-Man

  • Mitchell Carson gets his comeuppance.
  • Emma Stone plays Hope instead of Evangeline Lilly and her relationship with Scott is platonic than romantic plus I just felt Lilly in hindsight came off as a bit too much (it didn't help that she dissed Wright's version along with complaining how she didn't get the comics focusing on her character, not realising that her character is a villainess in the MC2 continuity, hence I really don't get why she gets a pass on her comments by fans, while Larson gets called out for her comments, though FYI, this is not meant to be a defense of the latter, okay).

Jessica Jones

  • Not much, to be honest.

Captain America: Civil War

  • Helmut Zemo is a descendant of Baron Zemo, who was part of Hydra.

Luke Cage

  • Not much, to be honest.

Doctor Strange

  • The Ancient One is Asian like in the comics (though Malaysian Chinese than Tibetan and still female) and would be played by Michelle Yeoh.

Iron Fist

  • Danny is clean shaven like his comic book counterpart and does wear his bandana mask.

The Defenders: Heroes for Hire

  • Given that MCU Defenders are actually Heroes for Hire in the comics (before the Bendis run of Defenders), I decided to rename it to include their actual identity.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

  • Mantis is more like her comic book counterpart.

Spider-Man: Homecoming

  • Uncle Ben is mentioned and does appear in flashbacks, as played by Jason Bateman.

Inhumans

  • Faithful to the source material and is a Freeform series than being an ABC series.
  • Daisy does recur in this version.

Thor: Ragnarok

  • Sif does appear in this version.

The Punisher

  • Not much, to be honest.

Runaways

  • It would be connected to Doctor Strange more.

Black Panther

  • Klaue survives instead of being shot by Killmonger.

Avengers: Infinity War

  • T'Challa isn't affected by the Snap.

Cloak and Dagger

  • Unclear at the moment.

Ant-Man and the Wasp

  • Not much, though this would set up a possible Thunderbolts TV series or film.

Captain Marvel

  • Wendy Lawson isn't Mar-Vell, but Anelle, Mar-Vell's lover, though still played by Annette Bening.
  • Monica is Captain Marvel, while Carol is Warbird instead of Captain Marvel and is played by Katee Sackhoff instead of Brie Larson.
  • Mar-Vell is played by Jason Isaacs in this version.

Avengers: Endgame

  • Clint sacrifices his life, thus allowing Natasha to get the Soul Stone due to feeling the latter deserved better.
  • Thor is not like the Dude after the five-year time skip (i.e. Fat Thor).
  • Steve does not go back in time at all and stays in the present, as he finally lets go of his past romance with Peggy and moves on.

Spider-Man: Far from Home

  • Mysterio is more like his comic book counterpart.

Black Widow

  • This takes place after Endgame, given her survival in this version.

X-Men Cinematic Universe

X-Men

  • Mystique dons her iconic suit.
  • The X-Men's costumes are more like their iconic Nineties costumes.
  • Sabretooth is actually the feral clone of Victor Creed.

Mutant X

  • Would be directly connected to the films.

X2: X-Men United

  • Wolverine stabs Stryker in the chest, thus causing him to bleed and then succumbs to his wound after being confronted by Magneto.

X3

  • Basically X-Men: The Video Game.

X-Men: The Last Stand

  • Angel would have a major role and joining the X-Men instead of being a living Easter egg.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

  • Elements of the video game tie-in is incorporated to this film.

X-Men: First Class

  • It would be a two-part film with the second part expanding from the first film left off like in Matthew Vaughn's original plans.
  • Emma Frost would be played by Rosamund Pike instead of January Jones, based on Pike's roles in Die Another Day and Gone Girl.

The Wolverine

  • Viper is instead replaced by Lady Deathstrike in this version.

X-Men: Days of Future Past

  • Beast is among the X-Men in the post-apocalyptic future part of the storyline.

Deadpool

  • Not much to change.

X-Men: Apocalypse

  • The X-Men's suits go from black stealth to yellow and blue midway.

Legion

  • Not much for now.

Logan

  • Mariko would appear in this as she would serve as a motherly figure to Laura.

The Gifted

  • Directly connected to the films.

Deadpool 2

  • Not much, though this would lead to an X-Force film.

Dark Phoenix

  • The Shi'ar race would appear in this version.
  • It would be a two-parter instead of a single film.

The New Mutants

  • More faithful to the source material.
  • Karma would appear and would be played by Kelly Marie Tran.
