First match of the FIFA World Cup

It was France's 4-1 victory over Mexico, which took part on July 13, 1930 in the Estadio Pocitos as part of the 1930 FIFA World Cup held in Uruguay. Lucien Laurent scored the opening goal, followed by a goal from Marcel Langiller and two goals from André Maschinot for France, while Juan Carreño scored the only goal for Mexico.
